Re: Provision of Counselling Services
I write to advise that I practice extensively in the area of Victims of Crime Assistance and have done so since the introduction of the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 1996. Previously I had also undertaken work in relation to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Acts which were in force prior to the 1996 Act.
Since the introduction of the Victims of Crime Assistance Act, I have had the need to refer many applicants (victims) to the Centre for Psychological and Relationship Counselling for both Counselling Services and Assessment Reports and have also received referral clients who have needed to lodge an Application under the legislation in order to obtain various benefits provided.
I am able to say that the standard of service provided by the Centre for Psychological and Relationship Counselling has been excellent. The Centre has been able to accommodate seeing clients on short notice. Further the standard of reports provided by the Centre have been excellent and show a clear understanding of the aims, objective and requirements of the relevant act.
I believe that the Centre for Psychological and Relationship Counselling would be well placed to provide services to victims of crime throughout the Northern area of Melbourne and I will continue to utilise the Centre for my own practice when required.
